Santa Fe Dental Group Celebrates Dr. Vinh Le’s Support of the San Diego Sheriff’s Junior Women’s Academy

Vista, CA — June 2026 — Santa Fe Dental Group is proud to recognize Dr. Vinh Le for helping inspire the next generation of women leaders during the 3rd Annual San Diego Sheriff’s Junior Women’s Academy, held June 16–18, 2026.

Carla Yriqui, public relations officer for Santa Fe Dental Group and San Marcos Smile Dental, represented the practices during the academy and joined staff members, participants, and community partners in supporting the event’s mission.

San Marcos Smile Dental, a sister practice of Santa Fe Dental Group, served as a leading sponsor of the three-day academy. The program welcomed young women from across San Diego County and gave them an opportunity to explore careers in law enforcement, leadership, and public service through hands-on educational experiences.

During the academy’s opening-day program, Dr. Le addressed the participants with an encouraging message about education, perseverance, and embracing new opportunities.

Dr. Le reminded the young women to “Never pass up opportunities when they come your way” and emphasized that “There is no limit to what you can achieve through education, determination, and hard work.”

This message reflects the importance of representation and mentorship. By meeting women working in law enforcement and public safety, participants were able to see firsthand that these careers—and the leadership opportunities associated with them—are within their reach.

Exploring Careers Through Hands-On Learning

The Junior Women’s Academy introduced participants to a variety of law enforcement and public-safety career paths. Activities included:

• Exploring the responsibilities and daily operations of detention facilities
• Learning investigative techniques and crime analysis methods
• Discovering how forensic science contributes to solving cases
• Interacting with Sheriff’s K-9 units and their handlers
• Meeting Sheriff’s fire helicopter pilots and learning about ASTREA aerial operations
• Participating in hands-on field sobriety testing exercises

Participants also attended educational sessions addressing human trafficking awareness, defensive tactics, and other important public-safety topics. Each experience was designed to build confidence, encourage curiosity, and help the young women better understand the many ways they can serve their communities.
